Scenic Railway and Skyway
Hop on the railway, or the skyway, either way, enjoy the magical Blue Mountains scenery. The railway offers a tour through plunging rainforests and cascading waterfalls, the skyway offers the exquisite mountainous views that the Blue Montains is so famous for. Both the railway and the skyway are open all year round from 9-5pm and are an ideal way to tour the Blue Mountains, in an exciting and spectacular way.

Zigzag Railway
Zigzag Railway was used until 1910 as the means of transport through the Blue Mountains. At present it is used as a scenic railway that runs on weekends and school holidays and is a great way to have fun and enjoy the views at the same time, the zig zag railway is very popular with tourists, especially the kids. Located 10km east of Lithgow.

School of Mines Museum - Cassidy Street Kalgoorlie
The WA School of Mines Museum will definitely appeal to those of you with a keen interest in geology and mineralogy. This museum houses a collection of approximatel 3000 mineral specimens along with replicas of famous gold nuggets. The School of Mines Museum is located on the corner of Cassidy Street and McDonald's Street in Kalgoorlie. Opening hours are 8-30am to 12-30 pm Monday to Friday. Please note the museum is closed for public and school holidays. Admission is free.

Albany
Established in 1826, Albany was the first colonial settlement in what is now WA. Albany is proud of its history; the tourist office has information on the dozens of buildings of historic interest. Though surrounded by gorgeous, uncrowded beaches, the city itself is the commercial center of the Great Southern region. Albany offers all of the conveniences—and annoyances—of a small city, with plenty of shops and cafes, but also increasing traffic and congestion, making Stirling Range perhaps a better choice for an overnight stay.

Northbridge
Northbridge lies to the north of the horseshoe bridge which crosses the railway line in William Street, between Perth Station and the Wellington Street Bus Station. It is easy walking distance from the city centre, but it is also within the free transit zone and the Blue CAT Bus goes here. James Street, the second street after the bridge, has become famous for food, but the surrounding streets too are competing hard. Here you will find every type of cuisine imaginable, a microcosm of the ethnic diversity of Perth. There are also pubs and nightclubs.
Hume Corridor
As the major route between Australia's two largest cities, the Hume Highway provides fast travel without too much in the way of scenery. Upgrades are slowly making the road into a divided freeway for the entire route, but at present some stretches are still two-lane and heavily trafficked. It takes nine to ten hours to cover the 872km between Sydney and Melbourne along the highway, but taking scenic detours along stretches of the Old Hume Hwy where it parts from the new can help spruce up the monotony with some beautiful historic villages tucked away in the countryside.
