The Cloisters
The Cloisters in St Georges Terrace were constructed in 1859 as part of the first secondary school for boys in Western Australia.
Katanning Historical Museum
This Museum was the first permanent school in Katanning and was opened in 1899.
The town was growing rapidly at this time, and it was soon outgrown. The school was moved to the site of the present Katanning primary school.
The display are numerous.
St Paul's Cathedral
Built from 1880 to 1892 from the designs of William Butterfield, a famous English Gothic revival architect, Anglican St. Paul's Cathedral is noteworthy for its highly decorative interior and the English organ built by T. S Lewis. Step inside to see gold mosaics on walls, Victorian tessellated tiles on the floors, intricate woodcarvings, and stained-glass windows. The cathedral sports the second highest spire (98m/321 ft.) in the Anglican Communion. A boys' choir sings at 5:10pm Monday through Friday during school times, and on Sunday at 10:30am and 6pm. School of Mines Museum - Cassidy Street Kalgoorlie
The WA School of Mines Museum will definitely appeal to those of you with a keen interest in geology and mineralogy. This museum houses a collection of approximatel 3000 mineral specimens along with replicas of famous gold nuggets. The School of Mines Museum is located on the corner of Cassidy Street and McDonald's Street in Kalgoorlie. Opening hours are 8-30am to 12-30 pm Monday to Friday. Please note the museum is closed for public and school holidays. Admission is free.

Perth Zoo
Perth Zoo is in South Perth and has more than 2,000 creatures of 280 different species. It tries to present its residents in their natural environment as far as possible. There is an Australian Walkabout section featuring native wildlife, through some parts of which one can wander with the animals. This, the only zoo in Western Australia, is open daily from 9 until 5pm, hours extended until 9pm January. The zoo can be reached by bus no. 30 or 31, or, more scenically, by taking the ferry across the river to Mends Street, followed by a short walk. Located
