Brunswick Heads
Brunswick Heads is a coastal fishing village characterised by beautiful beaches and sparkling waterways. Situated at the mouth of the Brunswick River, Brunswick Heads has its own fishing fleet and boat harbour. The harbour is situated to the north of the town beside the Brunswick-Byron Fishermen’s Co-operative where fresh local seafood can be purchased daily. Locals and tourists enjoy water sports including surfing, swimming, charter fishing, snorkelling and boating. Extensive parklands in and around Brunswick Heads provide a relaxed atmosphere from which easy access is gained to the river and the town centre.
The town centre has an abundance of excellent restaurants and cafes. Visitors enjoy a leisurely stroll around the town before choosing from a variety of alfresco and in-house dining venues where superb food and views of the river can be enjoyed. With a pretty river setting, which provides a commercial fishing boat harbour (and a great place for enjoying fish and chips or buying some seafood to cook at home) and beautiful surf beaches, Brunswick has always had devoted fans who prefer the gentler pace. With funky new cafes, restaurants and shops opening the town is developing a newer, trendier style.
The river is the focus for the town, with the large old deco-style pub taking in the view from across the road, and lots of space for family picnics and play right on the river. A footbridge across the south arm of the river leads to the Flora and Nature Reserve, and is just one of the many fishing spots on both river and beach.

Mullumbimby
Mullumbimby or "Mullum" to locals, is just up the track from Byron Bay, and is the seat of the Byron Shire Council. This is a traditional Australian rural community that has long survived and prospered on dairying, beef, wool and small cropping.

Tweed Heads
Tweed Heads is a wonderland of tourist attractions catering for the needs of everyone.
Within a one hour drive of Tweed Heads are a number of National Parks including Mt Warning, Nightcap and Border Ranges, National Parks, all lying to the west. Each of these parks feature some of the great aspects of Australia's geological past in its volcanic plugs.
Closer in, a visit to the Minjungbal Aboriginal Museum. The museum gives a great insight into the aboriginal culture of the area from thousands of years prior to the arrival of Europeans.

Macksville
Macksville is a nice town on the Nambucca River on the way to Taylors Arm where the Cosmopolitan Hotel claims the fame of being the ‘Pub with No Beer’. Nambucca Heads is a delightful spot for boating and watersports, and has the only island in the country set aside for a golf course, the Stuart Island Golf Club.
Valla Beach
Valla Beach is lovely and large, with a safe, sheltered, paddling spot for toddlers. Sawtell has some good resorts, wildlife sanctuaries and an Annual Chilli Festival. Valla Beach lies to the north of Nambucca Heads. This small coastal community is a very popular tourist destination with its caravan parks, camping and the Valla Beach Resort.
North Coast
